We query Google
Each URL is checked against Google's live results to confirm whether that exact page is in the index.
Fix what's missing
Not-indexed pages can't rank or pass link value. Submit them to our indexer to get them crawled faster.
Frequently asked questions
How does the Google index checker work?
For each URL we run a live Google search restricted to that page and check whether the exact URL appears in the results. If it does, the page is indexed.
How many URLs can I check?
Up to 10 URLs per check for free. With a serp.ac account you can check thousands of URLs in bulk and submit the missing ones to the indexer.
Why is my page not indexed?
Common reasons: the page is new and hasn't been crawled yet, it's noindex or blocked by robots.txt, it's canonicalized to another URL, it has thin or duplicate content, or no internal links point to it.
How do I get a page indexed faster?
Make sure it's indexable, link to it from strong pages, add it to your sitemap and request indexing in Google Search Console. For backlinks and pages you don't control, use our indexer to get them crawled.
Why should I check whether my backlinks are indexed?
A backlink on a page that Google hasn't indexed passes no value. Checking and indexing your backlink pages is one of the fastest ways to get value from links you've already built.
How fresh are the results?
Each URL is checked live, and the result is cached for 24 hours to keep the tool free.
